South Cotswolds MP visits new local business ahead of Small Business Saturday

Dr Roz Savage, Lib Dem MP for South Cotswolds, visited Refillable in Tetbury ahead of Small Business Saturday on 7 December.
The new Refillable shop in Tetbury is making a significant impact by enabling customers to reduce plastic packaging while prioritizing local, ethical, and environmentally responsible suppliers. This local business is a perfect example of the kind of sustainability-focused initiative that Roz is advocating for in her work, including through her Climate and Nature Bill.
Once their bistro opens, the shop will also serve as a venue for community events. In addition to Tetbury’s array of antique shops, pubs, and cafes, which attract many visitors, the shop addresses a pressing need for more food retail options for residents.
This initiative, led by mother and daughter team, Stamena and Leny, exemplifies the vital role small businesses play in the South Cotswolds. As part of Small Business Week, their efforts, along with those of other local enterprises, deserve recognition and support.
The Liberal Democrats have been pushing for the Government to scrap their employers’ National Insurance rise which will burden businesses in the South Cotswolds with higher costs at a time when many are struggling following years of “Conservative economic vandalism”.
Liberal Democrat MP for South Cotswolds, Dr Roz Savage said:
“Local businesses like Refillable are the backbone of our community and provide a great service to people here in the South Cotswolds. We should be doing all we can to support them.
“It’s why it is so important that the Government rethinks and scraps their National Insurance hike which will hit our small local businesses hard.
“After years of Conservative economic vandalism, businesses here in the South Cotswolds are now being hit by the new government with increased taxes and reduced support with business rates. This urgently needs to change, and I will be pushing the Government in Parliament to ensure it does.”
